Pike Esocidae Esox lucius.

Species Info: Large pointed snout, prominent backward pointing teeth. Dorsal fin set well back near tail above anal fin.
A fierce predator but having a preference for weedbeds where it lies in wait for its prey, which is just about any other species of fish.
It will not hesitate to attack another member of its own species.

Rod &Reels
We fish mainly from the boat using the spinning technique with 7 – 8 ft, 2 pieces rods. The reels with fied spool, several ball-bearings, 1:5.2 – 4.8 gear ratio. From the ground we will use 10 – 11 fts rods (live or dead-bait method).

8lb, to 15lb (monofilaments with 0,25 – 0,3 mm), from Berkley (SensiThin, Sensation), Shimano (Twin Power, Antares, Technium), terminal lines from kevlar – pike has very sharp teeth.
